18 Things I Do that my Young Kids Think are Hilarious
20 Things I Do that my Young Kids Think are Hilarious
- Make animal noises. Its not always the same noise that they think is hilarious, so I keep plenty of animal noises in my repertoire
- I do Silly dances. I twirl the boys around, and they don’t seem to think it gets old. This can sometimes tone down a temper tantrum where tickling would make my two-year-old angry if he’s already upset.
- Tickles! This works if they’re in a good mood. Our boys are ridiculously ticklish, so this is an easy one. Also, a good distraction when they ask me for something I don’t want them to have.
- Blowing Bubbles
- Doing a “man” voice. I already have a deep voice, so it’s not too hard to pull this off. Our two-year-old enjoys it. I do a very good Count from Sesame Street.
- I do a decent Elmo voice… this one can be funny for them, but they have to be in the mood for sure.
- Coloring. I color something then ask Cole what I drew… he almost always gets it right and then laughs when I go on-and-on about what a smart boy he is.
- Foot races through our place are a huge hit here. I tag Cole and then rawrrrrr like a lion and then he chases me and rawwrrrrrrs before he runs the other way. Its a fun take on tag for little kids that enjoy sound effects. It’s also a fun activity to stay busy and get a little workout during winter months when we’re inside a lot more.
- selfies! We love taking photos together, or better still, videos. When we do a video, I play it back to him a bunch. He will often say exactly what he was saying in the video, even if it was just jibberish… this makes me laugh as much as it does them.
- Silly Faces! I make some silly faces and some scary faces, and all are received as being funny. Kids love faces!
- Acting out music videos. Our two-year-Old’s screen time is largely Pentatonix videos on YouTube. We do the dances and make silly facial expressions for some. When he knows he’s “nailed it, it makes him laugh.
- Surprise! I jump out and yell surprise. Alex does this too. Its one of the more entertaining games for both boys.
- Pillow Fight. We don’t do this very hard, because they’re little, but this is pretty fun.
- Zerberts! These are fun on cheeks and tummies!
- Jump in Puddles on a Rainy Day.
- Swing HIGH on the swings! Our guys still use the baby swings, so this is pretty safe. I wouldn’t recommend this more small children on regular swings unless you are prepared to catch your flying baby.
- Piggyback Rides!
- Peek-a-boo This is big with our Ten-month-old more than our two-year-old. Time tested!
